Elixir Sugar Lumps
Sugar Lumps is a 7.7% Imperial Stout brewed with great mate and exceptional home brewer, Ben Hislop. It features some rather unique dark malts, oats, Demerera and Belgian candi sugar. Hot on the heels of the Chipotle chilli infused version, Sugar Lumps is currently available in kegs and in bottles. Launched Friday 2nd May at Cornelius.

Best of Worst of
Well, I finally have time to sit down and go over my recent trip to England, Scotland and Ireland. I though I’d take the opportunity to do a best of/worst of for each of the countries that I visited. This could include food/pubs/people/tours or just about any facet of the trip. I had a fantastic time on the trip and have many memories to keep. I got to see old friends and make some new ones. Continuing Education
Another year has passed. Cellarmonk’s own MeisterSgt (TheCellarMonk’s big brother) gains another year today. As they say, with age comes wisdom. This applies to most things in life, but I am especially proud of the fact that MeisterSgt is continuing in his beer education. No, he is not headed back to school to learn the fine art of brewing or the machinations of being a cellarman. He is just broadening his tastes in beer. Five year ago very little other than macro could be found in his fridge. Although there can still be some found, it is much less prevalent. He has moved on to more exotic beers. Calfkiller Brewing Co.
Calfkiller Brewing Company was founded by brothers Dave and Don Sergio. The brothers began brewery construction in June 2007, and produced their first commercial beer in July 2010. The name Calfkiller is taken from the Calfkiller River, which runs through Sparta, Tennessee. Calfkiller has participated in several beer festivals, including the 2011 Nashville Beer Festival and the 2012 East Nashville Beer Festival.
