Black Abbey Brewing Company
“St. Anne, help me! I will become a monk!” Thus cried Martin Luther as a summer thunderstorm bore down on him in Stotternheim, Germany in 1505. These words marked the beginning of a momentous shift in religious history, but as you’re about to see, they led to some great beer, too.

Big Hand Brewing Co
Real Ale 10BBL Microbrewery. Family owned and run. Now fully open and supplying hand crafted real ales to Wales and the North West of England. In a moment of madness a disillusioned Project Manager throws his redundancy in to setting up a microbrewery and persuades his nephew to join him in this madcap venture. To produce the best real ales we can, such that we make people smile when they taste them (and not in an intoxicated way).

Howling Hops Brewery
We spent the last few years brewing well over 100 different beers in the basement of the cock tavern on Mare Street. However trying to keep up with demand in the tiny underground brew cave was never going to last. The new brewery offers around 20 times more brewing capacity, space to bottle and a licensed tank bar so the beer can be enjoyed at source. The new brewery and tank bar is a couple of miles to the east of the Cock Tavern in an old brick warehouse in Hackney Wick.
