Our Homebrewer Interviews
There are very few professional brewers who’s position was assured as a birthright (ex Busch, Coors). If we were to take a poll, I think we would find that more than 75% of professional brewers (at least in the United State) were, at one time, homebrewers. This may not be the case outside the U.S. where breweries tend to be much older and the brewing order is more a stepping stone within the brewery than a bootstrap operation too a functioning brewery. We here at CellarMonk want to give all the recognition and encouragement that we can to those that hone their craft at home and dream of something bigger…

Interview with the Industry – Hungarian Micro Manager
{xtypo_dropcap}H{/xtypo_dropcap}ello good people of the internet. We bring to you today another of our interviews with industry professionals. This time we could not get this person to sit in the Comfy Computer Chair of Fame, so he did his interview from the park bench of fest (you’ll understand). Today we also have two firsts. First is the fact that the interview was not conducted by TheCellarMonk, but by user GrafStout (TheCellarMonks brother). Second is the fact that this is not a written interview, but one conducted in person at the interviewees own festival. The interview is a talk with Daniel Bart, organizer of Főzdefeszt. Főzdefeszt is Hungary’s largest microbrew beer festival…

Interview with a Head Brewer – For What Ales Ya
{xtypo_dropcap}A{/xtypo_dropcap} lot of hard work, a little bit of luck and a bunch of good friends. That is the best way to describe the last six months for the next head brewer to sit in the Comfy Computer Chair of Fame. Having built his little brewing startup to some local recognition, he was blindsided by what would happen next. Though a little hectic, with the power of social media and help from and guidance from friends and fellow brewers, everything turned out for the best. Bringing quirky small batch beers to Edinburgh, Scotland’s thirsty masses, please help us welcome Mr. Ben Bullen of Elixir Brew Co. Name(s): Ben Bullen …

Interview with the Industry – An Evening Star
{xtypo_dropcap}A{/xtypo_dropcap} first here at CellarMonk Beer. In our entire interview collection we had yet to interview someone from the serving end of the beer lifecycle. Well, we can cross that off the list now. So please welcome to CellarMonk, our first publican, Mr. Matt Wickham. Name of the Pub: The Evening Star (A Dark Star Pub) Name(s) of the publicans: Matt and Karen Wickham (Matt and his various beer ramblings can be found…
