    It is almost impossible to believe that York Brewery is only 14 years old, given our impressive list of both National and International Awards. York Brewery started production in May 1996 at Toft Green, becoming the first brewery within the city walls since JJ Hunts nearly 40 years previous. The brewing plant came from Original Lions Brewery in Blackburn and was moved to fabricators to bring it up to our high quality standards. Our very first brew was Yorkshire Terrier (4.2%), a premium bitter with rich, creamy malt and a full hop palate.
