The art of brewing in Maxlrain since 1636 SCHLOSSBRAUEREI MAXLRAIN is first mentioned in 1636. It was a “brown beer” brewery as was customary in those times. While a great deal has changed in the meantime, essential features have survived. Thus, MAXLRAIN is and remains a local private brewery under independent management. The fifteen styles of beer classified under pale ale, dark ale, Pils or wheat beer are all brewed applying manual skills utilizing finest ingredients enhanced by our own source of spring water drawn from the Mangfall Valley. Klosterbrauerei Kemnath GmbH & Co. KG
Der Ursprung der heutigen Klosterbrauerei in Kemnath beruht auf dem im Jahre 1660 gegründeten Franziskanerkloster. In diesem wurde für den Eigenbedarf der Mönche bis zur Säkularisation im Jahre 1802 Bier gebraut. Mit der Säkularisation ging das Kloster in privaten Besitz über. Seither sind wir eine familiengeführte Kleinbrauerei. Nach alter, über 350 jährigen Tradition, brauen wir noch heute im Kloster unter- und obergärige Dierspezialitäten und stellen Limonaden, Säfte und Saftschorlen her.

Originally The Balloon Tavern & then “The Ferret & Firkin in a Balloon up the Creek” when taken over by the Firkin brand in honour of its old name and location in Chelsea creek. The Firkin pubs were legendary amongst real beer drinkers & then in March 2001 Punch announced that the Firkin brand was to be discontinued – shame on them! In 1832 the land surrounding Lots Road was bought by the self styled Baron de Beaufain who opened a sporting club. Mustang Brewing Company was created to make great, easy-drinking, craft beers that can be enjoyed year-round. In 2008, after deciding they wanted to get into the beer business, our founders drafted a business plan, sold their house, cashed out their 401k, moved into a rental house, and started learning to brew beer in their garage on a 5 gallon turkey fryer. On July 13, 2009, we served our first pint of Mustang at James E. McNellie’s Public House in Oklahoma City.
