Doing my part for Stouterday. Just finishing a great day of doing practically nothing.
Aroma: Chocolate and chocolate, with a bit of a chocolate aroma coming through the chocolate.
Look (Appearance): Very, very, very, very dark brown. Some would even say black. Has not much of a off-white head that did not last that long. Good lacing as the head diminished.
Taste: Very robust roasty character. Prominent chocolate note. Very balanced with limited alcohol burn. Nice hop bitterness at the rear of the tongue and on the swallow. Bitterness lingers nicely.
Mouthfeel: Smooth, almost oily mouthfeel. Full bodied. Carbonation is low to moderate.
Second Look (Overall Impression): Right now this is one of my favorite "occasion" beer. What better day to drink it than Stouterday. This is a great specialty stout. The label does not lie. You get the chocolate treatment throughout. It is very enjoyable, but at it's abv, one would be my limit. Not only is the abv high, but it is a very filling beer.
