Second beer of the night so I though I'd try this little midwest IPA. It will be interesting to see what type of hop mix (East or West coast) is going on in a 68 IBU double IPA. And Eminem "Lose Yourself" is the background track.

Aroma: First thing I get is grassy hops (perhaps being released from the head). A bit of alcohol is present as well as a bit of sweet fruit.

Look (Appearance): Hazy gold with a thick just off-white head. Good lacing. Head falls moderately quickly

Taste: A bit of fruit, but the hops are the star. They show up on the swallow as well as on the breath. They also linger (really lingers) in the back of the mouth as a reminder that this is a double IPA. There is an alcohol presence, yet it is well hidden among the malty and hoppy characteristics. Well balanced.

Mouthfeel: The mouthfeel is moderately full but not bubbly or crisp or at all. The beer goes down fairly smooth, with a bit of a warming sensation from the booze. Hop bite is present on the swallow.

Second Look (Overall Impression): A well balanced double IPA that lets you know its an IPA. The hops definitely dont let the malt boss them around. This beer is not difficult to drink, but I will have to remind myself that this is an 8.2% beer.
