Tasting Comments

Aroma:
Sweet toasted malt nose hints at caramel or toffee
Look (Appearance):
Lush, off white head, dark amber body
Taste:
Tastes of burnt toffee, then a hint of citrus and pine from the hops.
Mouthfeel:
Full bodied, malty with a hint of alcohol warmth.
Second Look (Overall Impression):
A beer like this big will always have a noticeable amount of alcohol, but this one the alcohol is well hidden. It is full bodied with a bittersweet finish. The alcohol warming that is present is pleasant and smooth. Overall, this is a good balance between the malt and the hops with the malt being a little more forward, yet the hops are ever present and not to be forgotten. This would be a great "weekend in snowy mountains in a comfy cabin" sipping beer.
