Review Detail
Just came in from opening up the pool. It is not nice outside (hot and humid). Slowly cooling down and thought I'd crack a Kolsch open and help my cooling along.
Aroma: Mild floral/fruit and some grassy notes perhaps provided by the noble hops.
Look (Appearance): Pours clear straw yellow with a one finger white head that starts to fall very quickly. Good lacing as the glass empties.
Taste: Dry, light with a cracker taste on the swallow. Hops are present but not assertive.
Mouthfeel: Crisp, light bodied with a snappy bit of carbonation on the tongue. Some hop bitterness lingers on the back of the tongue at the finish. Pretty well balanced.
Second Look (Overall Impression): This beer is made by my local brewery. It is a fine example of the Kolsch-style. As a refresher it does its job very well. Easy to drink and a joy to experience. I can understand it winning medals. Very good.
