    A Best Bitter brewed in a traditional Sussex style using Maris Otter, Crystal and Chocolate malts with East Kent Golding hops. Typical of Dark Star ales, the Best Bitter relies on the heavy handed addition of aromatic hops late in the boil.

    The Dark Star Brewing Company was born in 1994 in the cellar of The Evening Star Pub, in Brighton. With a brew plant only marginally bigger than an enthusiastic home-brew kit the characteristic style of hoppy beers was developed and tried out on the willing guinea pigs at the bar.     Characterized by intense brown roasted malt flavors, this full bodied ale is deep reddish brown in color. A bold hop bitterness is balanced by a healthy addition of caramel malts. Cascade hops provide a flowery and aromatic hop finish. Original Gravity:1.056 Alcohol by Volume: 5.6%
