Review Detail
7.6 1 10 0.5Aroma: Very nice roastyness, cacao and a very nice malt sweetness. Hint of vanilla
Look (Appearance): Mahogany pour with a 1/2 inch tan head. Very clear.
Taste: Sweet with just a hint of salt. Not bitter even for the deepness in color. Roasted malts remain present on the palate after the swallow and a slight cacao presence noted after the swallow. *After allowed to warm up* Now getting flavor of dried fruits and more pronounce chocolate.
Mouthfeel: Llight to medium bodied, low to medium carbonation.
Second Look (Overall Impression): Saw this beer and had to try it (being a fan of both New Belgium and Ben & Jerry's). It a nice one off, but I am afraid that I could only have one or two before I tired of them. This beer has a lot of moving parts and I think more direction from the brewer as to "how to drink this beer" might help. This beer will shine brighter given more time to warm up. The flavors and aromas are much more prevalent between 47°F to 55°F (chemistry). Those trying this beer will do themselves a service if they take it from the fridge and allow it 10 to 15 minutes or so to warm up.
