Location Notes

Russell and the team welcome you to the Pulteney Arms. Located close to the Victorian splendour of Great Pulteney Street and The Holbourne Museum and only a 2 minute walk from Bath Rec, so the perfect spot for a pint and homemade lunch before a home game. The Pulteney Arms is everyone’s favourite local, from rugby fans, regulars or many of Bath’s visitors.
The Pulteney Arms is steeped in history, it is Grade II listed and is thought to date back to 1759. The building appears on Harcourt-Masters Bath map of c1810, thought to have been built at the same time as Great Pulteney Street, with Daniel Street being added after. Before being listed as Daniel Street the building was described as ‘back of Sidney Place’.
Today it is still very traditional inside, although altered many times since the 1800′s The Pulteney Arms has a great deal of charm and original features from some of the stone floors to fireplaces and gas lamps. There is the main bar, snug, back room and a courtyard garden tucked away. We have also collected a great deal of rugby and sporting memorabilia over the years which adorns some of the walls and is tucked away in nooks and crannies.
