Brinkburn St Brewery Ltd was formed in January 2015 and started brewing in September 2015, after a 9-month period of set-up and trial brewing. During this period we received valuable support and advice from Marble Beers of Manchester, Magic Rock of Huddersfield and Northern Alchemy of Byker, Newcastle.
Our 10-BBL brewery is located at Unit 1 Maling Court, Hoult’s Yard, Walker Road, Byker,Newcastle, NE6 2HL and consists of a 10 BBL Kettle and Mash Tun with six (6) 5 BBL separately temperature-controlled fermenters to provide a brewing capability of up to 7,500 pints per week.
We have focussed our brewing to date on what we personally like, the ‘west coast USA’-style ales such as hoppy IPA’s and brown ales. We have used a combination of Cascade, Chinook, Citra and Amarillo US pacific coast leaf hops with selective dry hopping. We intend to continue collaboration brewing with our brewery partners, some of whom are listed above, whilst bringing a little taste of the pacific west coast sunshine to Tyneside.
